Garthmyl Hall, Berriew, Grade II listed country house in Berriew, United Kingdom.
Garthmyl Hall is a brick and stone country house with a five-window facade, central pediment, Tuscan pilasters, and two-story sash windows with 12 panes. The 15-acre parkland contains formal gardens, a lake, and surrounding woodland.
The present hall was built in 1762 to replace a timber-framed mansion from the 17th century. Architect James K Colling undertook major renovations in 1859.
The interior shows Victorian decoration with Italian plasterwork and an Ionic screen dividing the entrance hall from the main staircase.
The parkland is registered in the Cadw Register of Parks and Gardens and is accessible to visitors. Wear appropriate footwear as paths wind through formal gardens and woodland.
A protected cedar of Lebanon tree grows on the grounds, marking the historical importance of the 19th-century garden landscape. This rare tree testifies to the Victorian passion for exotic plants.
