Church of St Peter

St Peter is a parish church in Addingham featuring a blend of architectural styles from different periods. The building displays Neoclassical elements, a north aisle in Perpendicular style, and a substantial west tower that incorporates earlier Norman fragments.

The main building was erected around 1450 and represents medieval church architecture of the region. Norman elements within the tower show that older religious structures once stood here and were incorporated into the newer church.

Archaeological excavations between 1998 and 2006 uncovered more than eighty graves from the Saxon era beneath the church grounds. This discovery shows the site served as a sacred burial place long before the medieval church was built.
