St Leonard's Hall

The nineteenth-century baronial structure features pepper-pot turrets and a tower with corbelled-out bartizans near Holyrood Park Road in Edinburgh.

Built between 1869 and 1870 by architect John Lessels for Thomas Nelson Junior of the Thomas Nelson publishing family as a residential property.

The interior ceilings display detailed paintings by Thomas Bonnar, a Scottish artist who contributed to numerous architectural projects in Edinburgh.

The building now serves as administrative offices for University of Edinburgh Accommodation Services and contains conference and meeting facilities.

During World War I, the building functioned as a Red Cross hospital, and later became St Trinnean's School for Girls before World War II.
