Stirling Tolbooth
Stirling Tolbooth, Event venue in Old Town, Stirling, Scotland.
Stirling Tolbooth is an eight-story event venue located in the Old Town of Stirling. It features a main auditorium with a dome ceiling and multiple meeting rooms designed for performances and gatherings.
The building originally served as a court and jail in past centuries, including death cells, and once hosted a parliament during James VI's reign. This judicial and penal function shaped its design for several centuries.
The venue hosts live music concerts, comedy shows, theatrical productions, and art exhibitions throughout the year, drawing both local and visiting audiences.
The main auditorium seats 166 people in theater configuration and can accommodate 225 people standing. Modern technical equipment is maintained by a permanent support team to ensure smooth event operations.
The building combines original architectural elements with modern technical facilities seamlessly integrated into its historic structure. This blend of old and new makes it an interesting example of contemporary use within a heritage setting.
