Treberfydd, Grade I listed building in Llangors, Wales
The stone mansion features gargoyles, gables, and stained glass windows, constructed with materials extracted from the surrounding fields.
Built between 1847 and 1850 by architect John Loughborough Pearson for Robert Raikes, whose family faced financial difficulties after their bank failed in the 1860s.
The gardens, designed by W.A. Nesfield, contain flowerbeds arranged in the pattern of the Raikes family monogram and hold special historic interest in Wales.
The private residence opens its doors to visitors for several weeks during summer months, allowing exploration of the Gothic Revival architecture.
The BBC series Doctor Who selected this Gothic Revival house as a filming location for episodes in 2007 and the Christmas Special in 2012.
