Llandinam Bridge, Cast iron bridge in Llandinam, Wales
The bridge spans 27 meters across the River Severn with three curved cast iron ribs forming a single segmental arch over the water.
Thomas Penson, the county surveyor of Montgomeryshire, designed this structure in 1846 to replace an earlier bridge crossing the River Severn.
The bridge marks the first public contract for David Davies, who later became a prominent industrialist in Welsh coal mining and railway development.
Vehicle weight restrictions limit traffic crossing the bridge to under three tonnes, as mandated by Montgomeryshire County Council since 1906.
The bridge features X-shaped lattice panels in its spandrels, with cruciform and circular cross-members similar to the Mythe Bridge in Tewkesbury.
