Brynkinalt Hall, Country house in Chirk, Wales
Brynkinalt Hall is a country house set on a hillside overlooking the Ceiriog Valley near Chirk in Wales. The three-story brick structure includes two long side wings that house separate reception rooms, dining areas, and a glass conservatory facing the wooded valley below.
The Trevor family has occupied the site since the 10th century, with Sir Edward Trevor constructing the main building in 1612. The two side wings were added in 1808 to provide extra living and reception space for a growing family and their guests.
The chapel within the grounds preserves the family's private worship space from the 17th century, complete with dark wood paneling and narrow stained glass windows along its side walls. Visitors often notice the carefully maintained lawns facing the main façade, used for outdoor gatherings and picnics on sunny afternoons.
The upstairs rooms accommodate up to 16 overnight guests, with most featuring private bathrooms and views across the surrounding woodland and fields. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes, as the garden grounds are extensive and include some uneven pathways.
The property served as a filming location for the 2022 Netflix production of Lady Chatterley's Lover, with several interior rooms and garden scenes shot on site. The old oak trees lining the approach drive provide shade on warm days and were planted back in the 18th century.
