Aberlour, Old Parish Church, Burial Ground, Historical church ruins and burial ground in Aberlour, Scotland
The burial ground contains the remnants of the former Parish Church of St Drostan, featuring large irregularly shaped rubble walls and mural monuments throughout the site.
Built before 1812, the original parish church served as a central place of worship until its replacement, leaving only the southern transept visible in the current grounds.
The Macpherson Grant Mausoleum, constructed in 1877, demonstrates Gothic architecture with pointed-headed entrances, nook shafts, and detailed hoodmould with carved decorations.
The cemetery remains active for burials and spans 0.41 hectares, with an additional public cemetery section of 0.43 hectares and a modern extension of 0.59 hectares.
The burial ground holds mural monuments dating to 1663, including memorials to the Innes family from Kinermonie and the Anderson family of Mudhouse from 1761.
