Raploch Park, Sporting venue in Larkhall, Scotland.
Raploch Park was a sporting venue in Larkhall featuring a football pitch enclosed by a running track. The facility included a pavilion and covered stand positioned on the north-western side of the grounds.
The park was established in 1878 as the home ground of Royal Albert Football Club and operated in that capacity for many decades. The site shifted to greyhound racing in 1938 before being demolished in the early 1960s.
The venue served as a gathering place for the town's sports supporters who came to watch local football and later greyhound racing. It held a central place in community life during the era when these events were major entertainment.
The site no longer exists as it was demolished in the early 1960s and the location has since been redeveloped. Visitors interested in the venue's history can explore the area around Larkhall and trace the historical significance of where it once stood.
The land was originally pasture before being converted to local football pitches around 1870. It sat opposite Gasworks Park, the home ground of rival club Larkhall Thistle, creating a close sporting neighborhood.
