Sacred Heart Church, Roman Catholic church in Petworth, England
The Sacred Heart Church features Gothic Revival architectural elements with pointed arches, detailed stonework, and stained-glass windows by Lavers & Westlake.
Frederick Walters designed this Grade II listed building in 1896, following the acquisition of land by Charles Willock Dawes for local Catholic worship.
The church maintains three separate congregations across Sussex, including Sacred Heart, Divine Motherhood, and St Anthony and St George Church in Duncton.
Sacred Heart Church conducts regular services with Mass celebrations on Saturday evenings at 5:30 PM and Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM.
The first Mass in the church was a funeral service for Mrs. Charles Dawes, and both she and her husband rest in the church crypt.
