Mount Oswald, Georgian manor house in Durham, England
Mount Oswald stands as a Grade II listed building featuring architectural elements from its 1830 expansion by architect Phillip Wyatt.
The manor house was built in 1800 for London merchant John Richardby before Thomas Wilkinson, a former Durham mayor, acquired it in 1806.
The property transformed from a private residence to Durham City Golf Club in 1934, reflecting changes in English country house utilization patterns.
Durham University has constructed student accommodation for 1,000 residents at Mount Oswald through a £105 million private finance initiative.
The manor house contains Durham County archives and the Durham Light Infantry Collection following a 2020 development project.
