Astronomy Centre, Astronomical observatory in Todmorden, England
The Astronomy Centre features a three-level round building with an aluminum dome and fourteen separate telescope mountings for astronomical observations.
Peter Drew, Linda Simonian, and Rob Miller established the Astronomy Centre in November 1982 on the location of a former factory in the Pennines.
The center fulfills educational needs through regular engagement with schools, youth organizations, and community groups while contributing to various media channels.
The facility opens every Saturday evening from 7:30 PM, requesting a minimum donation of £3 for adults and £1 for children to support operations.
The observatory houses a 30-inch open truss Newtonian telescope and maintains a 42.6-inch mirror blank for future expansion projects.
