Hove Town Hall, Municipal building in Hove, England
Hove Town Hall is the administrative building and headquarters of Brighton and Hove City Council, located on Norton Road. The four-story structure with large glass windows houses administrative offices, a Registrar's Office, Citizens Advice Bureau, and Tourist Information Centre.
The original Victorian Gothic building dated from 1882 and was destroyed by fire in 1966. The current Brutalist structure was completed in 1974 to replace the lost historic building.
The Great Hall inside hosts civic events and public gatherings where residents regularly come together for local matters. This sense of shared space still defines how the building functions in community life today.
The building is accessible via several bus routes serving Norton Road, making it easy to reach by public transport. Visitors should keep in mind that this remains an active government center with regular operations.
Solar panels on the rooftop generate renewable energy, reflecting the building's modern environmental approach, though they caused an electrical fire in 2015. The repairs that followed led to improvements in safety and maintenance systems.
