Sacred Grove, Religious site in Ontario County, United States
The Sacred Grove contains a network of walking paths among tall trees, offering visitors a natural forest environment in western New York state.
In 1820, this woodland became central to the Latter Day Saint movement when Joseph Smith reported experiencing his first divine vision there.
The site serves as a gathering location for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who come to understand their religious origins.
Visitors can access the grove throughout the year and walk along designated dirt paths while reading information panels about the location's significance.
Within the forest stand six original trees from the 1800s, known as Witness Trees, which were present during the time of Joseph Smith.
