Glassboro, Borough in Gloucester County, New Jersey, US
Glassboro spans across Gloucester County with residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and educational facilities connected by Route 553 and Route 55 highways.
The borough emerged in 1779 when Solomon Stanger established Glass Works in the Woods, leading to its official formation by the New Jersey Legislature in 1878.
The Glassboro Summit Conference of 1967 brought together U.S. President Johnson and Soviet Premier Kosygin at what is now Rowan University.
Residents access NJ Transit bus services connecting to Philadelphia, while the Glassboro Wildlife Management Area provides 2,400 acres for outdoor activities.
The population increased by 4,570 between 2010 and 2020, reaching 23,149 residents, primarily due to the expansion of Rowan University.
