Beavertail Lighthouse, Maritime navigation lighthouse in Jamestown, United States

The stone lighthouse structure rises 14 meters above Conanicut Island's southern tip, directing ships through Narragansett Bay with white flashes every six seconds.

Constructed in 1749 and rebuilt in 1856, this lighthouse marked the entrance to Narragansett Bay and guided vessels past dangerous rocky shores.

The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association maintains exhibits about maritime navigation technology and the daily responsibilities of lighthouse keepers through the centuries.

Visitors access the lighthouse through Beavertail State Park, which provides free parking and walking paths along the rocky coastline.

The lighthouse grounds contain multiple historical structures, including two keeper houses from 1856 and 1898, plus an oil house and storage buildings.
