Eisenhower House, Historic residence in Newport, United States

The Eisenhower House is an 1873 mansion at Fort Adams State Park featuring classical architectural details and overlooking Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. The multi-story building contains numerous reception rooms, bedrooms, and outdoor terraces with views of the water.

The mansion was designed and built in 1873 by architects George C. Mason & Son. During President Dwight D. Eisenhower's time in office in the 1950s, it became his official summer residence.

The name reflects President Dwight D. Eisenhower's use of the property as a summer retreat, connecting the house to American presidential history. Visitors can see the formal rooms that hosted official meetings and private gatherings during that era.

The building serves as an event venue accommodating up to 1,000 guests with indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from. Accessible entrances and preparation areas are available, and the waterfront location makes it a distinctive setting for celebrations.

The State of Rhode Island acquired the property in the 1960s, transforming it from a private presidential residence into a public venue for events. This shift gave the site a new purpose and opened it to the wider community.
