Museum of Yachting, Maritime museum in Newport County, United States.
The Museum of Yachting displays numerous boats, sailing artifacts, and maritime equipment in a renovated building at Fort Adams State Park.
The institution, established in 1979 by John Mecray and fellow enthusiasts, merged with the International Yacht Restoration School in 2007.
The American Sailboat Hall of Fame and Single-Handed Sailors' Hall of Fame recognize notable vessels and solo navigators from across the United States.
The museum collection moved to the Edward W. Kane and James Gubelmann Library within the restored John Mecray Aquidneck Mill Building in 2008.
Since 1980, the museum initiated the Classic Yacht Regatta, an annual event that continues to showcase vintage sailing vessels in Newport waters.
