Prospect Park Boathouse, Beaux-Arts boathouse in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, United States
Prospect Park Boathouse is a white terra-cotta structure with French doors situated on the bank of Lullwater. Large arched windows frame views of the water and create an open connection between the interior and the surrounding landscape.
The boathouse was completed in 1904 as part of the park design by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. It later gained recognition as a New York City Landmark and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The boathouse serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors come together for seasonal events and celebrations throughout the year. It has become woven into how people experience the park during different times of year.
From spring through fall, you can rent rowboats and pedal boats to explore the water. The indoor space accommodates up to 150 people for private events and celebrations.
The food and catering services are provided by Purslane, which operates several other well-regarded restaurants in Brooklyn. This brings restaurant-quality dining to the waterfront venue.
