Brown's Lake Bog

The 100-acre preserve contains a kettle lake, floating sphagnum moss mat, and forested areas surrounding a natural bog system.

The Nature Conservancy acquired the land in 1966, leading to its designation as a National Natural Landmark in 1967 for its ecological importance.

The preserve houses more than 20 rare plant species, including bog buckbean, pitcher plants, and multiple orchid varieties in its acidic environment.
