Charles M. Braga Jr. Memorial Bridge

The Charles M. Braga Jr. Memorial Bridge is a steel truss structure spanning the Taunton River and connecting Fall River with Somerset. It serves as part of the Interstate 195 system and functions as a major traffic route for travelers and commercial vehicles.

Construction of this structure took place between 1959 and 1966, creating a new transportation link for communities in the region. Its completion improved access to areas around Buzzards Bay.

The bridge is named after a Fall River resident who died in the Pearl Harbor attack during World War II. This name honors his service and sacrifice for the country.
