The Charles M. Braga Jr. Memorial Bridge extends 5,780 feet across the Taunton River, connecting Fall River with Somerset through a steel structure.

Construction of this transportation link began in 1959 and concluded in 1966, providing interstate access to communities along Buzzard's Bay.

The bridge received its name in honor of a Fall River resident who lost his life during the Pearl Harbor attack in World War II.

Interstate 195 crosses the bridge, offering travelers and commercial vehicles a direct route between Providence, Rhode Island, and New Bedford, Massachusetts.

The structure rises 135 feet above the water, incorporating continuous riveted steel through trusses and cast concrete deck approaches.
