Fillmore Glen State Park

Fillmore Glen State Park is a natural area in Moravia featuring a gorge with five waterfalls, dense forests, and trails that wind through the landscape along a stream flowing into Owasco Lake. The terrain includes pathways of varying difficulty suitable for different types of hikers exploring the wooded surroundings.

The park takes its name from Millard Fillmore, the 13th President of the United States who came from this region. A replica of his childhood home sits on the grounds, built to reflect how people lived during his early years in New York.

The park offers visitors programs that explain the local natural world and regional heritage of the Finger Lakes through guided activities and information stations. These programs help visitors connect with the landscape and understand how people have lived in this area over time.

The park has camping areas with around 60 sites and several rental pavilions that can accommodate groups of up to 110 people for gatherings. A stream-fed swimming pool opens during the warmer months for visitors to cool off while exploring the grounds.

During winter, the park's roads that are usually unpaved become official routes for cross-country skiing and snowmobile use. This transforms the same location into a different kind of experience for visitors who prefer the cold season.
