Gerber/Hart Library, LGBT archive and library in Edgewater, US.

The Gerber/Hart Library maintains over 14,000 volumes, 800 periodical titles, and 100 archival items focused on LGBTQ topics and history.

Established in 1981, the library began in the offices of Gay Horizons before relocating to its current location in Rogers Park in 2012.

The facility serves as a central repository for LGBTQ literature, documentation, and research materials in the Midwestern United States.

Researchers and visitors can access the reading room, browse the circulating collection, and explore rotating exhibitions throughout the year.

The Illinois Fund for the Future awarded the library a $25,000 grant in 1999 to support its mission of preserving LGBTQ history.
