Golden Mine

Golden Mine is a two-story frame house with cypress shingles and a steep gable roof located in Milford. A brick addition with its own entrance extends the original structure.

The house was built around 1763 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in August 1978. Its construction reflects building methods from the 18th century.

The building incorporates architectural elements from colonial Delaware, including a large interior fireplace and traditional winding stairs to the second floor.

The house is located in Milford within Kent County and can be viewed from the outside. Walking through the area helps visitors appreciate the architectural details at their own pace.

Inside, the house retains original single board partitions that separate the front and rear entrances. These dividers show traditional building techniques from the 18th century.
