The Greek Orthodox Church of St. George displays Neoclassical architecture with columns, stained glass windows, and traditional Orthodox interior decorations.

In 1924, two hundred Greek immigrants in central Iowa formed a society that led to establishing this parish, which purchased its current building in 1930.

The church serves 190 families from various Orthodox backgrounds, offering Greek language classes, Sunday school programs, and religious education opportunities.

Located at 1110 35th Street in Des Moines, the church holds Sunday services with Orthros at 9:00 AM and Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM.

The interior combines Orthodox icons with original Presbyterian elements, including stained glass windows that display the names of initial donors.
