Knapp Center, Sports arena at Drake University in Des Moines, United States.
Knapp Center is a sports facility on Drake University's campus in Des Moines with an elevated 200-meter running track, four racquetball courts, and five multipurpose courts. The entire facility spans 114,000 square feet (10,600 square meters) and accommodates various sports and training activities.
William Knapp, chairman of Iowa Realty, donated 3 million dollars to build this sports center, which opened in December 1992. The facility was designed as a major venue for university sports and campus life.
The basketball court received the name Ron Pearson Court in 2010, recognizing the former CEO of Hy-Vee and Drake University graduate.
Access depends on the university, so visitors should check in advance if they can visit the center. It helps to know the exact location on Drake's campus to find the building easily.
The center received lounge areas in three corners of the arena after major renovations, with premium seating in the Schicklers Club. These exclusive spaces offer spectators an enhanced view of events with added conveniences.
