Herman and Anna Hanka Farm, Finnish immigrant homestead in Pelkie, Michigan.

The Hanka Farm includes eight preserved buildings spread across 40 acres, including a farmhouse, barns, sauna, woodshed, and blacksmith shop near U.S. Highway 41.

The property, established in 1896 by Finnish immigrants Herman and Anna Hanka, remained under family ownership until 1966 and gained National Register recognition in 1984.

The buildings and structures demonstrate the transfer of traditional Finnish architectural designs and farming methods to the American frontier during the late 19th century.

The farm museum operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays between noon and 4 pm with self-guided tours available.

The homestead maintains its 1920s appearance with original structures including a root cellar, cattle barn, milkhouse, and horse barn built by the Hanka family.
