Kincaid Lake, body of water
Kincaid Lake is a 183-acre reservoir in Pendleton County, Kentucky, created in 1961 by damming Kincaid Creek and featuring roughly 13 miles of shoreline. The water reaches depths of up to 37 feet and is surrounded by wooded areas and open grassland within the state park setting.
The reservoir was created in 1961 by damming Kincaid Creek and opened to public fishing in 1963. This project was designed to provide the local community with a water management feature and recreational space for outdoor activities.
The lake is accessible year-round with two free boat ramps available, one above the dam and one in the state park. The grounds feature walking trails, picnic areas, parking, and clear signage to help visitors navigate the park and find suitable activity spots.
The lake benefits from active fish management programs in which over 4,600 channel catfish and more than 1,100 largemouth bass were released between 2019 and 2021. Fish attractors such as brush piles and pallet structures have been strategically placed at approximately 15 locations to provide hiding and spawning habitat.
