Knob Noster State Park, State park in Johnson County, Missouri, US
The 3,934-acre recreational area features oak woodland, prairie patches, and Clearfork Creek flowing through diverse natural landscapes.
The park began as Montserrat National Recreational Demonstration Area in the 1930s, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration.
Native American tribes considered the hills within the park area as monuments to fallen warriors, influencing local historical narratives.
Visitors can access five types of camping areas, seven hiking trails, two fishing lakes, and seasonal kayak rentals from April through October.
The Pin Oak Slough Natural Area contains a protected wet-mesic forest where rare pale green orchids grow in seasonal water pools.
