Old Ohavi Zedek Synagogue features Gothic Revival architecture with arched windows, a gabled roof, and a round window displaying a Star of David.
The synagogue, constructed in 1885 for the Ohavi Zedek congregation of Lithuanian Jewish immigrants, received National Register of Historic Places designation in 1978.
The synagogue maintains the Torah ark from 1928, adorned with classical designs depicting the Ten Commandments and gilded lions on its facade.
The religious structure, situated at the intersection of Archibald and Hyde Streets, contains a women's gallery illuminated by oculus windows.
The original wooden exterior underwent modification in 1902 when the building was enlarged and covered with brick cladding during renovation work.
