Pinetown Bushong's Mill Covered Bridge

The red-painted wooden bridge spans 133 feet across the Conestoga River, connecting Upper Leacock Township with Manheim Township through a single-span structure.

Built in 1867 by Elias McMellen for $4,500, the bridge features double Burr arch trusses and received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Local Amish craftsmen reconstructed the bridge in 1973 following its destruction by Hurricane Agnes, demonstrating the community's dedication to preserving historical structures.

The bridge deck measures 12 feet 10 inches in width and stands 17 feet 6 inches above the average waterline, specifications that resulted from the 1973 reconstruction.

The structure, officially designated as Big Conestoga #6 Bridge, marks the point where Lititz Run merges with the Conestoga River.
