Pine Grove Covered Bridge, Covered bridge in Little Britain Township and East Nottingham Township, Pennsylvania.

Pine Grove Covered Bridge spans 195 feet across the East Branch of Octoraro Creek, connecting Lancaster County and Chester County with red painted walls and white approaches.

Built in 1884 by Union Army Captain Elias McMellen, this structure replaced an 1846 bridge that was destroyed during a flood in the same location.

The bridge incorporates the Burr Truss design, created in 1804 by Theodore Burr, who was related to Vice President Aaron Burr of Thomas Jefferson's administration.

The bridge features oak plank decking installed perpendicular to traffic flow and maintains its function as a crossing point between two Pennsylvania counties.

This structure stands as the longest covered bridge in Lancaster County and remains the only two-span covered bridge still open for public use.
