Ramona Park, Amusement park at Reeds Lake, East Grand Rapids, US.
Ramona Park was an amusement park on the western shore of Reeds Lake featuring a dual-track wooden roller coaster, an open-air theater pavilion, and a miniature railway line. The grounds contained multiple attractions spread throughout the lakeside setting.
The park was established in 1897 by the Grand Rapids Street Railway Company as a trolley destination and operated continuously until closure. It was demolished in 1955.
The Ramona Theatre Pavilion seated 1,700 people and presented vaudeville shows and musicals featuring popular entertainers of the era. The venue served as a key gathering spot for entertainment and drew visitors from across the region.
The park was accessible by multiple transportation options including horse-drawn trams, steam trains, electric streetcars, and later city buses. Visitors could explore the lake and attractions during daytime hours.
The Derby Racer wooden coaster built in 1914 was constructed from long-leaf yellow pine and featured an unusual racing configuration with significant height. This particular construction method was distinctive among rides of that era.
