Riverview Park, Former amusement park in Des Moines, Iowa.
The park covered an area accessible by a wooden bridge, featuring multiple mechanical rides including a figure-eight roller coaster and two different carousels.
Nine local entrepreneurs, led by Abe Frankle, established Riverview Park in 1915 as a zoological garden and trolley stop, operating until its closure in 1978.
The Riviera Ballroom at Riverview Park served as a primary entertainment venue, earning recognition in the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The former amusement park site now contains an inclusive playground with carnival elements, musical instruments, and ziplines for children of all abilities.
The Philadelphia Toboggan Company created a carousel for the park in 1923, later replaced by a Herschell-Spillman menagerie carousel with detailed hand-carved figures.
