Short Mountain, Mountain summit in Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States.
Short Mountain extends for seven miles from Mount Jackson to Edinburg along the northwestern margin of Massanutten Mountain in Virginia.
Originally named Seven-Mile Mountain, this peak became part of George Washington National Forest and ranks as the ninth highest mountain in Shenandoah County.
The Massanutten Trail system connects Short Mountain with five other peaks, forming a network of paths through the Appalachian Ridge region.
Hikers can access the 2,811-foot summit via the orange-blazed Massanutten Mountain Trail, which requires a 5.8-mile round trip journey.
From the northern overlook, visitors observe numerous Massanutten Mountain peaks and catch limited views of Great North Mountain to the west.
