Siegfried's Dale Farm

Siegfried's Dale Farm is a historic property in Maxatawny with thirteen buildings spanning different periods. The complex includes three stone houses, multiple barns, a schoolhouse, and various agricultural structures scattered across the rural landscape.

Johannes Siegfried obtained the land in 1732, and his descendants kept it for nearly 240 years. The property passed to the Rodale Institute in 1971, ensuring the historic buildings would be preserved long-term.

The buildings on this property show how early Pennsylvania settlers constructed their homes and organized daily life. You can see stone construction and Georgian architectural elements that remain visible in the facades and layouts.
