St. Bernard Church

St. Bernard Church is a church building featuring rounded arches and a bell tower that displays Romanesque Revival characteristics. The structure combines traditional architectural elements with practical spaces designed for contemporary worship and community use.

A major fire in 1904 destroyed the original structure, after which architect Joseph A. Jackson designed the current building. Its dedication in 1908 marked a fresh start for the expanding parish.

This parish emerged to serve Catholic workers in the area and continues to anchor the spiritual life of its community today. Parishioners gather here regularly for services and use the spaces for their faith practices.

The building is easy to find, situated at a central location in Rockville with adequate parking available nearby. Accessible entrances allow entry for visitors with mobility limitations.

The building houses one of the earliest Austin organs, Opus 205, featuring original historical components. This musical instrument blends traditional craftsmanship with modern digital technology used in services today.
