St. Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral
St. Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral, Episcopal cathedral on Front Street in Downtown Harrisburg, US
St. Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral displays Romanesque Revival design elements with rounded arches and strong structural features across its exterior and interior spaces.
The construction of the cathedral's nave began in 1826, and the building received its designation as a diocesan cathedral on January 27, 1932.
The cathedral functions as the mother church of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania, hosting regular services and community gatherings throughout the week.
Morning Prayer services occur Monday through Saturday at 8:30 AM, while Sunday services include an 8:00 AM contemplative session and 10:15 AM traditional worship.
Located adjacent to the Susquehanna River, the cathedral complex includes a Cathedral House and Chapter House, with St. Stephen's School situated on nearby Cranberry Street.
