Superior Hiking Trail, Long-distance trail in Minnesota
The Superior Hiking Trail is a long-distance trail that spans the northeastern part of Minnesota in the United States, skirting the northern shore of Lake Superior.
Established in 1981, the trail was designated as a National Recreation Trail in 2005.
The trail attracts hikers from all over the world, offering scenic landscapes and a rich cultural experience with local attractions, events and cuisine along the route.
Trail maps and visitor guides are available online and at various visitor centers throughout the trail.
The trail includes more than 90 backcountry campsites- no reservation or fee is required.
