Surrogate's Courthouse, Beaux-Arts courthouse in Chambers Street, Manhattan, United States.

The Surrogate's Courthouse features three-story colonnades with Corinthian columns, grand marble interiors, and 54 sculptures adorning its granite facade.

Constructed between 1899 and 1907, the building replaced an aging structure in City Hall Park following extensive debates over funding and design modifications.

The building houses the Municipal Archives in its basement, preserving essential documents that detail the development of New York City through centuries.

The fifth floor contains the New York Surrogate's Court, where legal proceedings related to wills, estates, and guardianships take place daily.

The site previously served as a water reservoir for the Manhattan Company from 1799 to 1842, and before that was known as Pot Baker's Hill.
