United States Army Women's Museum

The United States Army Women's Museum documents the contributions of female soldiers throughout American military history using exhibits and personal accounts. The museum was founded in 1955 at a military base in Alabama and moved to Virginia in 2001 following base consolidations. This relocation allowed it to expand its focus and reach more visitors with its collection.

The collection highlights how women have served in every branch of the Army, from nurses to pilots to combat soldiers, reflecting their growing roles in military service.

Admission is free and the grounds are fully accessible for people with varying mobility needs. Group tours can be arranged in advance, and parking is available on site.

The museum grounds feature a statue of a female soldier erected in 2013, marking the first of its kind on an American Army installation. This statue serves as a powerful symbol acknowledging women's military contributions.
