Army Quartermaster Museum

The Army Quartermaster Museum at Fort Gregg-Adams focuses on the history of military supply and logistics in America. The collection spans uniforms, weapons, equipment, and documents from various periods of the nation's military past.

The museum started in 1957 from a collection of replica uniforms first used in 1953 for training at the Quartermaster School. What began as a teaching tool expanded into a broader archive of military supply history.

The museum shows how soldiers were equipped and supplied across different periods of American military history. The exhibits reveal the practical challenges of keeping armies fed, clothed, and armed during wartime and peacetime.

The museum sits on an active military base and may require an identification check upon arrival. Plan for at least two hours to explore all the exhibits and bring appropriate clothing if you will spend time outdoors.

The museum preserves rare items including a jeep used by General Patton during World War II and a saddle belonging to General Grant from the Civil War. These personal possessions of famous military leaders offer a direct look at how they moved and worked.
