Wingaersheek Beach, Public beach in West Gloucester, Massachusetts, US
The 0.6-mile beach stretches along the Annisquam River, featuring white sand and large rocks scattered across the shoreline.
The name originates from the Dutch term Wyngaerts Hoeck, appearing on numerous maps between 1630 and 1670 in early American cartography.
Local regulations alternate dog access between Wingaersheek and Good Harbor beaches, with odd-numbered days designated for Wingaersheek since 2015.
Lifeguards monitor the beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with parking fees of $30 on weekdays and $35 during weekends.
During low tide, the beach expands hundreds of yards, revealing an extensive sandbar where visitors can walk far into Ipswich Bay.
