Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park

The park encompasses 244 acres of protected coastal forests, salt marshes, and rocky shores along the edges of Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River.

The land became a state park in 1969 when Lawrence M.C. and Eleanor Houston Smith donated their property to preserve the natural coastal environment.

Educational programs at the park focus on teaching visitors about coastal ecology, local wildlife patterns, and the significance of salt marsh preservation.

The park maintains five miles of walking trails connecting different ecosystems, with interpretive signs explaining the local flora and fauna throughout the paths.

Ospreys nest on nearby Googins Island from April to August, making the park an excellent location for observing these birds catch fish in the waters.
