Woonsocket City Hall, Municipal government building in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
The Woonsocket City Hall combines Italianate and Richardson Romanesque architectural styles with brick construction and a granite-clad addition at 169 Main Street.
Constructed in 1856 as Harris Block by industrialist Edward Harris, the building housed Rhode Island's first public library and became the official city hall in 1902.
Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech in the building's Harris Hall during March 1860, addressing citizens in what was then the largest assembly room in Rhode Island.
The municipal offices inside Woonsocket City Hall provide essential government services to residents, maintaining administrative functions for the community.
The structure features distinctive round-arch windows, a heavily dentilled cornice, and an 1891 granite block addition that exemplifies late 19th-century municipal architecture.
