Rogers Commercial Historic District

The Rogers Commercial Historic District is a collection of historic buildings that span different periods of the city's growth and development. The structures display Renaissance Revival and related classical styles with detailed ornamental work on their facades and exteriors.

The district was first established in 1988 as the Walnut Street Historic District, covering buildings constructed between 1885 and 1943. Since then, the protected area has grown to include additional structures and landmarks from different eras.

The district displays different architectural styles that reflect how Rogers' commercial center developed over time. You can see Italianate, Colonial Revival, and Spanish Colonial Revival buildings side by side, showing how tastes changed across generations.

The Victory Theater was added to the district at a later date and represents a different kind of landmark within the area. This venue shows how entertainment venues became important parts of the commercial landscape.
