Lillard-Sprague House
Lillard-Sprague House, Historic residence in Rogers, Arkansas.
The Lillard-Sprague House is a residence in Rogers built in 1907 with a T-shaped floor plan and a projecting front section. The wraparound porch features Tuscan columns resting on stone piers, which are the most visible architectural elements of the structure.
Built in 1907 by R.E. Lillard, the house originally stood on Pleasant Grove Street before being relocated in 2015. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, recognizing its architectural importance.
This house reflects regional building styles that were common in early twentieth-century Arkansas and how people wanted their homes to look during that time. The design shows what residents valued in residential architecture as the region was developing.
The property sits in a residential neighborhood of Rogers and is accessible by foot from the town center. Visitors can walk around the area to see the house in its neighborhood context and appreciate the period architecture.
The rear addition to the house was designed with perfect axial symmetry aligned to the original structure. This careful planning reveals how the builder respected and integrated the original design into the expansion.
