Coda Rossa Winery

Coda Rossa Winery is a vineyard spanning about 10 acres in Franklinville, cultivating several grape varieties including Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cayuga White. The grounds include vineyard rows, tasting areas, and a simple functional building that fits into the landscape.

The vineyard was first planted in 2002 and opened to visitors in 2010. The property changed hands in 2021 but the wine production has continued under its new ownership.

The name comes from Italian words meaning red tail, inspired by the red-tailed hawks that regularly visit the vineyard grounds. This bird presence shapes how the place feels and connects the landscape to Italian winemaking traditions.

Visitors can come for wine tastings from Friday through Sunday during afternoon and daytime hours. It is helpful to check ahead about Sunday hours and whether reservations are recommended before arriving.

Beyond traditional grape wines, the vineyard produces fruit wines made from blackberries, blueberries, peaches, and raspberries. This mix of classic and fruity options makes the selection different from most vineyards nearby.
