Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, New Jersey, Hindu temple in Colonia, New Jersey, US

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a Hindu temple in Colonia featuring traditional architecture with dome-shaped roofs and housing multiple religious shrines. The interior is arranged with altars and religious imagery that reflect different aspects of the faith.

The temple opened in 2005 when a former Jewish synagogue was converted into a Hindu place of worship. This transformation marked an important moment for religious diversity in the region.

The temple serves as a gathering space where the Hindu community comes for prayer and reflection. Regular ceremonies here are an important part of spiritual life for families and devotees from surrounding areas.

The temple is located on an easily accessible street in Colonia and welcomes visitors throughout the day. It is best to arrive in the morning when the main ceremonies take place and the atmosphere is most active.

This shrine is one of only a few Swaminarayan temples outside India and was specifically designed using replicas from the temple in Ahmedabad. This connection to the original site in India holds special meaning for many devotees.
