Bennett House, Recording studio in Franklin, Tennessee
Bennett House was a recording studio housed in a two-story Victorian building with two separate recording spaces equipped with professional-grade machinery. The facility operated as an active studio until closing, after which the building was converted to retail use.
The building was constructed in 1875 as a Victorian residence for Confederate Army veteran Walter James Bennett. It remained in family ownership until 1967, when it was subsequently operated as a recording studio from 1980 to 2008.
The recording studio hosted numerous musicians from 1980 to 2008, including Joe Diffie, Doug Stone, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, and Vince Gill.
The location is in Franklin and is accessible through a retail storefront today. Visitors should keep in mind the facility no longer operates as a studio and plan their visit accordingly.
The studio earned the name 'The Thomas Room' for one of its recording spaces, recognizing the work of producer Keith Thomas through multiple sessions.
